Oradell Gives Go-Ahead for DPAC Advertising Banners

The Recreation Commission will be selling advertising banners to be hung around DPAC during the spring season

The Doug Parcells Athletic Complex (DPAC) will have a new look come March as the Oradell governing body gave the go-ahead for the Recreation Committee to start selling fence space for advertising banners. The banners, measuring 4-feet by 5-feet, would be placed on the back fencing closest to the wooded area from March 1 through December 1 in a one-year trial basis. "My recommendation for this year is to see how it would look and if its objectionable, to make changes for the following year," Recreation Director Gina Reynolds said. "Many of the vendors I spoke to recommended using a white mesh background with four advertising colors on the front." Along the Green Path

A Flower Show and More from the River Edge Recreation Commission

Local residents can enjoy a few trips this spring.

The River Edge Recreation Commission is organizing exciting events for this spring. On Tuesday, March 8th, the Recreation Commission will bring residents to the Philadelphia International Flower Show. The plants displayed in the flower show were grown under controlled temperature and lighting conditions so that they would be in full bloom for the show regardless of their natural blooming season. Guests at the show can enjoy an entire year's worth of flowers at the same time. The flower show will feature blooming exhibitions from around 60 organizations. The trip to Philadelphia International Flower Show is open to residents of all towns. The $50 fee covers bus transportation and admission to the show. The bus will leave Kenneth B. George …
