County Police to Present Benefits of Dispatching Services This Week

Here's a sneak peek of what's coming up in River Dell this week

MONDAY: The River Edge Mayor and Council have a 7pm work session where County Police Chief Brian Higgins and County Administrator Edward Trawinski will give a presentation about utilizing the County's 911 and Dispatching services. Currently River Edge has several dispatchers on staff to handle the police desk. The Regional Board of Education initially scheduled for 8pm tonight has been cancelled. The Board will next meet on March 4, 8pm to vote on a preliminary budget that will be submitted to the County.  TUESDAY: The Oradell Mayor and Council will meet at 7pm for a public meeting. WEDNESDAY: The Oradell Board of Education as a 7:30pm meeting at OPS while the River Edge Board of Ed's 7:30pm meeting will be held at Cherry Hill. The River …

Purim and George Washington's Birthday Celebrations Scheduled for This Week

Here's a sneak peek of what's coming up in River Dell this week

MONDAY: All Borough Offices are closed today for President's Day. Also all public schools are closed for winter break this week. TUESDAY: The River Edge Mayor and Council have a 7pm work session where Tax Assessor Jim Anzevino will review the 2012 reassessment data in regards to the percentage of sales and the assessed value. WEDNESDAY: Preschool Adventures at the Oradell Public Library kicks off at 10:30am for children three-and-a-half to five years old. The River Edge Library is hosting "Beaded Buddies" for borough children ages 8+ from 11:15am to 12pm where they can learn to string beads and create a colorful beaded buddy to take home. Regional District Sets New Goals to Handle Education Trends This Week

Here's a sneak peek of what's coming up in River Dell this week

MONDAY: During tonight's River Dell Regional 8pm Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Patrick Fletcher will give a presentation on Trends in Education and what the district's goals are to keep pace with and surpass those trends. TUESDAY: The Oradell Mayor and Council have a 7pm work session where United Way's Tom Toronto will give a presentation. The exact topic of the presentation is unknown at this time. WEDNESDAY: The Oradell Board of Education has a 7:30pm meeting in the Media Center. Prior to the meeting, the Board was expected to meet in closed session at 6:30pm to discuss the Special Services Dept./Personnel. New Bridge Museum Presentation and Signing Day are Coming This Week

MONDAY: The River Edge Mayor and Council has a 7pm work session and 8pm regular meeting. During the work session, New Bridge Landing Commission members Mary Donohue, Kevin Wright and Michael Trepicchio will discuss their plans to build a museum at New Bridge and their ongoing problems with the DEP. TUESDAY: The Oradell Planning Board is scheduled to meet in Council Chambers at 7:30pm. WEDNESDAY: It's Signing Day for all student-athletes that will compete in college. Oradell Set to Vote on Police Promotion Ordinance This Week

MONDAY: The River Edge Mayor and Council has a 7pm work session where Bergen County Police Chief Brian Higgins will make a presentation on the County's 911 and Dispatching services. TUESDAY: The Oradell Mayor and Council have a 7pm meeting where the governing body is expected to approve a Police Promotion Ordinance which would outline the process for officers to be elevated to the rank of sergeant, lieutenant, captain and chief. The ranks of detective and detective sergeant will be added in the spring. WEDNESDAY: The Oradell Mayor and Council have a special work session at 6pm in the Caucus Room. The River Edge Board of Education has a 7:30pm meeting at Cherry Hill, while the Oradell BOE meets at OPS at 7:30pm. THURSDAY: There is a sixth grade parent orientation at River Dell Middle School Auditorium at 7pm. His slide lecture will focus on the last year of a certain way of life formed in the Victorian era and shattered by the ravages and disillusionment following the widespread devastation of the Great War (1914 – 1918) and the subsequent influenza pandemic. Here are some of the top stories from River Dell this week

With three open seats on the Regional Board of Education, current sitting members unanimously appointed a trio of candidates to fill the vacancies on Monday night. Anthony Barbary of River Edge will fill the seat left by Vito Acquafredda who was voted onto the River Edge Council during the November election. Alan Feigenson and Lori Locastro, both of Oradell were chosen to fill the the voids left when Michael Chakansky and Dorothea Durand resigned prior to the holidays. By a 200-point margin, first time candidate Patrick Gallagher of Oradell won a seat on the River Dell Regional Board of Education in November. Along with uncontested River Edge incumbents Joe Manzelli and Claudia O'Neill, Gallagher officially joined the Board of Ed on Monday…

Gallagher, Oddo Take Board of Ed Seats This Week

MONDAY: Patrick Gallagher (Oradell), Claudia O'Neill and Joe Manzelli (River Edge) will all be sworn in during the Regional Board of Education's 7pm reorganization meeting. The Board, during its 8pm regular meeting will interview prospective Oradell trustees Alan Feigenson and Lori Locastro to fill the voids left when Michael Chakansky and Dorothea Durand resigned. Correction: The Oradell Board of Education will have its reorganization meeting at 6:30pm at OPS to welcome the return of Christine Robertson and Katherine Norian along with newly elected trustee Andrew Oddo.
