River Dell Educators Help Create Teen Conference at BCC

High school students from around Northern New Jersey spent all-day Friday at Bergen Community College learning the benefits and options of a STEM career

Leaders from President Obama to Warren Buffett have stressed the need to educate more American students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields in order to keep America competitive in the global economy. On Friday afternoon, Bergen Community College hosted its first annual Teen STEM Day to offer Northern New Jersey high school students the opportunity to learn about different career paths. The day-long conference had students attend hands-on workshops which demonstrated how industries use science, technology, engineering and math to answer the needs and demands of daily living. Students Work Hard Toward Their Goals

River Dell holds first National Science Honor Society Induction

River Dell had their first Science Honor Society Induction recently with several students receiving the honor before a crowd of friends and family at the High School. "In my opinion the induction went really well. All of these students worked really hard to make this happen and to get to this level," organizer and River Dell teacher Saratheresa Bartelloni said. To get things started, the inductees and their guests were treated to a variety of sweet treats including  delicious cakes, cup cakes, cookies, brownies, and beverages. Once everyone settled down two students sung "A Whole New World" to officially start the induction.
