Oradell Attorney to Push for New Application in Proposed Development, and More This Week

The state of the United Water property application for development will be challenged by Oradell's attorney this week.

Louis Flora, the attorney representing Oradell in the New Milford Zoning Board hearings of the proposed development of the United Water Property, is expected to challenge the application at the special meeting of the Zoning Board on Thursday. This meeting comes on the heels of the dramatic ending of last week's meeting when counsel for the developer announced that they had entered into a conceptual agreement with the New Milford Board of Education to donate three-acres of property, along with a 'sizable' donation, for a 'field of dreams.' Opposing counsel plans to petition the Board to consider this a new application, rather than an amendment to the existing application. River Dell High School Makes Newsweek's Ranking of Top High Schools

Ranking places River Dell High School 819 of all high schools in the country and tenth in Bergen County.

River Dell High School has made it to Newsweek's ranking of top high schools in the country. River Dell placed 819 out of more than 26,407 high schools nationwide. With factors that included high Advanced Placement test scores, a 94 percent graduation rate and an average SAT score of 1643, River Dell placed tenth among Bergen County High Schools. "I attribute this to a strong relationship between the school, the home and the community," Superintendent Patrick Fletcher said in response to the ranking. "We are blessed with a Board, administration and faculty who care about kids, parents who support a well-rounded education and a community that values the resource that the schools are." The Week Ahead in River Edge and Oradell

River Edge The River Edge Mayor and Council will be meeting Monday in the council chambers of Borough Hall. The work session begins at 7pm and the public session begins at 8pm.  River Edge, Oradell, New Milford Rotary Club will be meeting Tuesday at Cool Beans, 304 Kinderkamack Rd, Oradell at 12:15 pm. The Zoning Board of Adjustment will be meeting on Wednesday at 8pm. Neighbors helping Neighbors - Career Transition Support and Networking group ( CTSN ) will be meeting at the River Edge Public Library at 7 pm. The River Edge Beautification Committee will be meeting on Thursday at 8pm in the PSB meeting room--2nd floor. Hawks, Crusaders One Step Away from MetLife Stadium

River Dell faces Sparta while Bergen Catholic meets Don Bosco in the state football semifinals

The undefeated River Dell Golden Hawks may have been stricked with injuries throughout the season but their goal to return to MetLife Stadium is still alive this weekend. At the same time, Bergen Catholic will face archrival Don Bosco Prep in the semifinals this year rather than the title game as the Crusaders three regular season losses dropped them several points. For both teams to get to Rutherford and a shot for a group title, they must each dig deep against their opponents on Friday night in the Non Public Group 4and North 1 Group 3 tournaments.
