Senior Filmmakers Present "Urban Combat" Short Today at 12pm

An original video created by River Dell students will air this Saturday on MSG Varsity's Student Director's Cut at 12pm

This weekend, River Dell High School seniors Eric Fakharzadeh and Dominic Dickson will present their original video "Leftovers: Urban Combat" on MSG Varsity Channel 14, Saturday 12pm. The short video will be aired during MSG Varsity’s Student Director’s Cut as one of seven student directed videos. “Leftovers: Urban Combat” is a segment that takes video games a step further. When one student shows up at his friends house so they can join another friend to play video games, he finds his friend hiding in a leaf pile, covered in camouflage. The entire walk to the other friend’s house the boy in camouflage is behaving as though enemies are going to jump out at them, and he is hiding behind trees, cars or whatever else he finds. River Dell seniors video will be broadcast this weekend

Two weeks ago, River Dell juniors Jane Murphy and Pete Muccia had their video Leftovers: Hawk Walking broadcast on MSG Varsity’s High School Life. This weekend, regional seniors Greg Stengel and Korey Loehr will present their video, School Spirit, on Saturday 12pm.  High School Life is a student-produced monthly show that presents student created videos and features ranging from academics to art to events. Loehr and Stengel's segment features students describing what makes River Dell such a great school. From school pride, to the feeling that everyone at the school is a family, viewers will get the sense that River Dell High School is a place where students can excel at whatever they choose, while being accepted by their peers. “Part of …

Seven Crusaders Appear on All-Metro Lists

MSG Varsity released its top football athlete rankings and Bergen Catholic was heavily favored

This year's 2012 campaign may not have ended how the Bergen Catholic Crusaders invisioned with a Non Public Group 4 trophyarch rival Don Bosco Prep in the state semifinals. River Dell Juniors Video Nets Air Time this Weekend

The high school segment Leftovers: Hawk Walking will be featured on MSG Varsity's High School Life on Saturday

MSG Varsity’s High School Life, a student-produced monthly show which next airs on Saturday 12pm will feature a River Dell produced segment Leftovers: Hawk Walking. Created by River Dell High School juniors Jane Murphy and Pete Muccia, Leftovers: Hawk Walking, features the duo stopping students and faculty throughout the school, asking them to solve a number of riddles. High School Students can Showcase their Game Day Prep Videos with MSG

Submit Your “Cameras are Coming, Get Ready” Routine for All of the Tri-State Area to See

MSG Varsity, Cablevision’s 24/7 HD network dedicated to everything high school, wants to see how their viewers get ready for the big game and help them get famous by showing the process on-air. To continue the momentum of MSG Varsity’s new advertising campaign, they are asking high school student athletes and fans to submit videos onto the MSG Varsity YouTube channel showing their “Get Ready, Get Famous” preparation for the big game. The less than 30 second long video must include an introduction, title and tags in order to be eligible. Once a video is submitted it will be reviewed for a chance to be featured on-air. MSG Varsity Gears up for Friday Night Football with Bergen/St. Anthony's

The Cablevision channel dedicated to all things high school sports will have camera crews at several Bergen Catholic and River Dell games this season

The new Friday night football season is just around the corner and while the River Dell Golden Hawks will be playing host to West Essex in Oradell, MSG Varsity will be kicking off its fall line-up out on Long Island at the anticipated match-up between the Bergen Catholic Crusaders and St. Anthony's Friars. Played under the lights at Huntington Station campus, the cross-regional game pits head coach Nunzio Campanile's red and gold squad against the black and gold of Rich Reichert. Bergen, once again led by senior Jon Germano from the shotgun, is looking to start their ambitious season off with a bang following their 2011 campaign (8-3) where they lost to archrival Don Bosco in the Non-Public Group IV final.  The Friars finished 2011 (10-0) …

Bergen Catholic QB Wins Tri-State Showdown

Football legends Phil Simms and Amani Toomer serve as judges in the first-ever high school quarterback competition

NEW YORK - Bergen Catholic's John Germano won a quarterback skills contest in June after besting 24 of the region's top high school passers. The competetion was recently aired by MSG Varsity. The junior Crusader spent this past fall leading Bergen Catholic to the North Non Public A championship game against Don Bosco in MetLife Stadium. A converted defensive back, he shined in the red and gold throwing 2,359 yards last season, approximately 214.5 passing yards per game. The 17-year-old from Hawthorne picked up 402 rushing yards for six touchdowns and has a 59% completion percentage with Bergen Catholic. The region's top 25 high school football quarterbacks competed in MSG Varsity's inaugural Tri-State Quarterback Showdown at New Rochelle …

Tri-State Quarterback Showdown Airs Tuesday

The best quarterbacks from New Jersey, New York and Connecticut competed for the showdown title with Phil Simms and Amani Toomer as Judges

In just a few days time, MSG Varsity will premiere the first Tri-State Quarterback Showdown on July 17, 7:30pm on Optimum TV Channel 14. The showdown was filmed in June and among the top 24 high school quarterbacks competing from the New York Metro area for the “Showdown Champion” title through various challenges and obstacles testing their speed, strength, accuracy was Bergen Catholic's rising junior John Germano. With their creation of a skit comedy video for RDTV, River Dell students Leah Feingold and Erin Cameron are now in the running for a $5000 grant from MSG Varsity as Finalists in the 2012 MSG Varsity V-Awards.
