A Night Of Poetry In Oradell
The Red Wheelbarrow Poets presented a night of poetry readings at the Oradell Public Library.
William Carlos Williams (1883-1963) was a native son of Rutherford and wore many hats; from doctor to poet and playwright to novelist. His prose served as the inspiration for Jane Fischer, former director of the Rutherford Public Library, John J. Trause and others to create the William Carlos Williams Poetry Cooperative of Southern Bergen County in 2005. So it was only fitting that Trause, who now leads the Oradell Public Library, brought some of Williams' work with him And last night, the Poetry Cooperative with the Red WheelBarrow Poets held their first open mic night in Oradell. Taking the floor first was John Barrale who opened with five poems, including one called Xia Jaio, inspired by his time spent in the Chinese city in 2006. …
