Uncontested Oradell Race Leads to Koth, Alonso's Return on Dais

Councilman James Koth was named Council President for the second year

For the second consecutive year, an uncontested race has led to the all Republican status quo to remain in place in Oradell. Councilmembers James Koth and Donna Alonso were officially sworn in on Sunday afternoon after facing zero competition at the polls. Koth, who was renamed Council President for the second year, garnered 2,460 votes. First elected to the governing body in 2009, the lifelong borough resident is a product of both the Oradell Public and River Dell school systems as well as volunteering as a third generation firefighter in town. Oradell Council to Continue Looking Into Outsourcing the Borough’s Communication Capacity

After determining cost savings and quality of services, the public would be invited to comment

At Tuesday night’s Oradell Council meeting, Councilman James Koth pulled an agenda item about outsourcing the borough’s communication capacity but still took a moment to explain that before such a change could take place, the public at some point would get to voice their opinion on the matter. Koth further stated that discussions on this topic would only progress if it’s first determined by the council that there would be “substantial” cost savings.
