Bergen Habitat's Sandy Rebuild Efforts Gets Added Boost

The non-profit's efforts to help homeowners rebuild after Hurricane Sandy recently received a $5,000 donations towards their efforts

For the next couple of years, the Bergen County chapter of Habitat for Humanity, based out of Oradell, will be assisting homeowners in South Bergen County to rebuild their homes that were damaged by Superstorm Sandy. So far the organization has begun its efforts in Little Ferry and has already gained an added boost to their long-term project. This past week, Boiling Springs Savings Bank donated $5,000 to Habitat Bergen’s Sandy rehabilitation project "Repair. Rebuild. Restore." Habitat Rebuilds with Gingerbread from Help by St. Peter's

St. Peter the Apostle Parish hosted a gingerbread house-making fundraiser to support Habitat Bergen

Before the holiday season came to an end, St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in River Edge, hosted a gingerbread house-making fundraiser in December to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County’s Sandy Rehabilitation efforts. The event was a success, raising over $1,100 and bringing together community members, who took the time out of their Sundays to raise awareness of the need for affordable housing by building their own gingerbread homes. “St. Peter the Apostle has been such a valuable supporter of Habitat Bergen for over 10 years now,” said Jacey Raimondo, Executive Director, Habitat Bergen. “We are always amazed at the community’s generosity and enthusiasm to help us in our mission of providing affordable housing …

Habitat Bergen Goes ‘Planet Green’

Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County helps reduce waste by collecting recycled electronics for Planet Green

Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County has joined the Planet Green Recycle Team on a mission to reduce waste and protect the environment by collecting small electronics, such as used cell phones, tablets, navigation systems, etc. and shipping them off to Planet Green to recycle. “Our priority is to provide affordable housing to low-income families within Bergen County. Edison Students Raise Awareness, Support for Habitat Bergen

Holiday cards created by Lakeview School Career Awareness Program (C.A.P) students are on sale now through Habitat Bergen

Students from The Lakeview School's Career Awareness Program (C.A.P) in Edison, are spreading holiday cheer this season through their one-of-a-kind holiday cards to support Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County’s mission of providing affordable housing to low-income families in Bergen County.   Lakeview students’ holiday cards are on sale and being showcased at Habitat Bergen’s Gift-Wrapping Station at the Bergen Town Center in Paramus, directly in front of Whole Foods.
