Real Housewives of NJ Star Shows Support for Habitat Bergen

Habitat for Humanity in Bergen County hosted its 19th annual Builder of the Year Gala at the Venetian in Garfield.

Dozens of local celebrities showed up for Habitat Bergen's Builder of the Year Gala Tuesday night, supporting the nonprofit agency's mission to provide affordable housing to low-income Bergen County families.  Among the attendees who lined the red carpet at the Venetian in Garfield were Real Housewives of New Jersey's Jacqueline Laurita, singer Lori Michaels, notable interior designer Vanessa DeLeon and New York Road Runner 2013 Half Marathon Runner and Habitat Bergen Supporter Brian Lang.

Coldwell Banker Annual Garage Sale to Benefit Habitat for Humanity

Alpine/Closter Coldwell Banker supports Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County through Annual Garage Sale

For the fourth straight year, Alpine/Closter Coldwell Banker is hosting a garage sale on Saturday, April 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., rain or shine, to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County. Habitat Run for Sandy Victims Raises over $3K

Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County held its first annual 5k run to support its ‘Repair. Rebuild. ReStore.’ program in Little Ferry over the weekend at the Oradell Reservoir

Over 150 runners hit the ground running on Saturday in the first annual Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County 5k Race to Build for Little Ferry victims from Hurricane Sandy. The race, which raised over $3,523 to benefit the affiliate’s "Repair. Rebuild. ReStore" Hurricane Sandy rebuilding program in Little Ferry, was held at United Water's offices in Harrington Park next to the Oradell Reservoir. Habitat Bergen has embarked on a long-term commitment of rebuilding in Little Ferry over the next 18 to 24 months. To date, Habitat Bergen has completed work in five homes with the help of two GM Mobile Response Units fully equipped with Bosch and Lowe’s tools.

Get your running shoes ready this Saturday as Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County kickstarts the spring weather with a 5k Race to Build for Little Ferry victims from Hurricane Sandy. The race will take place at United Water on the Oradell Reservoir in Harrington Park. The event will raise support from community residents and local businesses for the affiliate’s ‘Repair. Rebuild. Bergen Habitat's Sandy Rebuild Efforts Gets Added Boost

The non-profit's efforts to help homeowners rebuild after Hurricane Sandy recently received a $5,000 donations towards their efforts

For the next couple of years, the Bergen County chapter of Habitat for Humanity, based out of Oradell, will be assisting homeowners in South Bergen County to rebuild their homes that were damaged by Superstorm Sandy. So far the organization has begun its efforts in Little Ferry and has already gained an added boost to their long-term project. This past week, Boiling Springs Savings Bank donated $5,000 to Habitat Bergen’s Sandy rehabilitation project "Repair. Rebuild. Restore." It is the second donation Habitat has received in the past few months towards their Sandy rebuilding project as St. Peter the Apostle Church in River Edge raised over $1,100 through a gingerbread house-making fundraiser. Webelos Team Up with Habitat Humanity for Engineering Badge

With the first building completely framed and the second partially complete, the Oradell Habitat for Humanity project recently welcomed a group of senior webelos from River Edge Pack 229 to the Lake Avenue construction site. "These boys were anxious to meet our Habitat Bergen engineer from Omland Engineering Associates, Inc. at our Oradell housing project site to ask questions to attain their special achievement award for their engineer badges," Christina Dello Buono, Habitat's Director of Special Events & Marketing said. Habitat Rebuilds with Gingerbread from Help by St. Peter's

St. Peter the Apostle Parish hosted a gingerbread house-making fundraiser to support Habitat Bergen

Before the holiday season came to an end, St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in River Edge, hosted a gingerbread house-making fundraiser in December to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County’s Sandy Rehabilitation efforts. Habitat Bergen Receives Mobile Response Unit to Help Sandy Victims

Chevrolet, Lowe’s and Bosch partner with Habitat to deploy the response units, which will provide tools and equipment to help Bergen County families with critical repairs

Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County is one of nearly a dozen Habitat affiliates that received a mobil response unit this week. The unit, which will be used to assist communities in the county as the organization works to restore and rebuild homes in the hardest hit area following Superstorm Sandy. Bergen Habitat to Begin Multi-Year Assistance to Sandy Victims

Homeowners can apply now for assistance from the volunteer organization

North Jersey was forever changed after Hurricane Sandy hit the area, devasting homes in towns like Little Ferry, Moonachie, Hackensack, South Hackensack and Carlstadt. Now the Bergen County chapter of Habitat for Humanity, based out of Oradell, is looking to institute a five-year relief plan to assist homeowners rehabilitate, rebuild and return to their homes.
