The River Dell girls seventh grade team completed their 2013 campaign undefeated in the Navy division
The Riverdell 7th Grade girls travel basketball team won every game within their 7th grade Navy Girls division of the Bergen Travel Basketball League for the 2012-13 season. The team has been coached by Ken McGovern since they all attended fourth grade at Oradell Public School.

The Lady Hawks basketball coach will be honored during an April 14 awards program in Edison
With over 400 wins to his name and 18 years of coaching experience, Lady Hawks head basketball coach Lou Wejnert will be the fifth River Dell coach to be inducted into the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Assocation/NJ State Interscholastic Athletic Assocation Hall of Fame this spring. Wejnert is one of 36 New Jersey coaches that will be honored during the April 14 Awards Program at Pines Manor in Edison. He joins fellow River Dell coaches Jose Ortiz (Golf, 2009), Dianne Furusawa (Volleyball, 2008), Brian Long (Boys Basketball, 2003) and Ralph Raymond (Tennis, 2002) in the Hall of Fame. 2007 River Dell graduate Alyssa May took her skills from the court and now applies them to business
Former River Dell standout Alyssa May graduated from the regional district as an extremely accomplished two-sport student-athlete. May excelled on the volleyball court as well as the basketball court. She scored 2,157 points, pulled down 1,067 rebounds, and dished out 675 assists—all school records. The Oradell native helped the Lady Hawks capture two North 1, Group 2 state sectional titles. May was an all-league, all-Bergen County, and all-state point guard. She was the North Jersey Player of the Year in 2006 and 2007. She led the volleyball team to the state semifinal, and was an all-league and all-county selection during her tenure as a setter. Overcome Mawhah to advance to N1G2 semi-finals against Pequannock
For some teams, three times is not always the charm. Just ask the River Dell Lady Hawks when they took on Northern Highlands for the third time during the regular season and lost after having one the first two games. On Wednesday night, the Lady Hawks hosted the Mahwah T-Birds in the N1G2 state tournament in their third game of the year. And much like the previous two matches, the Lady Hawks once again survived a late T-Bird surge for a 50-41 win. "I'm just happy we were able to break the curse," senior Jill McGovern said.
