Concerns about a possible cell tower dominate council meeting
For months, the topic of a cell tower in the center of Oradell has dominated the Mayor and Council meetings. And recently, the proposed ordinance 10-10, amending Chapter 240 of the Code of the Borough of Oradell entitled "Land Use and Development" establishing guidelines for the siting of wireless communications towers and antennae in the Borough of Oradell, was no different. Nine Oradell residents addressed the mayor and council during the Public Comment section of a recent October meeting. Their concerns generally focused on the proximity of the proposed tower to schools and the dangers of exposure to radiation from those towers to children, as well as other safety risks and hazards.
