After a four year delay, the former Huffman Koos lot will have its groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday.
After four years of waiting, the former Huffman Koos development project, approved in 2008, is finally going to begin Wednesday at noon with a groundbreaking ceremony. Route 4-Main Street LLC which is owned by Peter and Paul Ciancia was granted site plan approval by the Planning Board in the fall of 2007 to construct a trio of retail buildings on Main Street with Total Wine moving closer towards Rt. 4 into a new 30,000-square-foot building on the property. After a four year delay, plans for the former Huffman Koos lot have been submitted to the building department for review
River Edge has waited just a little over four years for the 2008 approved Huffman Koos development project to begin. And now, the project is looking to finally begin once County Building officials sign off on a set of recently submitted plans. Mayor Sandy Moscaritolo announced during Monday's council meeting that finalized plans have been submitted to the borough's building department for review and a developer's agreement is in the works. "Last week March Construction, the contractor for the Huffman Koos owners, delivered plans for the new shopping center to the building department," Moscaritolo said. While waiting for news about receiving financial support from the state Economic Development Authority, two leases have been signed for the former Huffman Koos site
Construction may still be months away for the former Huffman Koos site as the owners continue to await news from the state Economic Development Authority regarding financial support. In the meantime though, Route 4 - Main Street LLC has begun inking leases with Total Wine and CVS. Plans for the site call for a trio of retail buildings on site with Total Wine moving further down towards Rt. 4 into a new 30,000-square-foot building on the property. As of this week, CVS has signed an agreement in principal to move from their current location near the River Edge Diner into the current Total Wine store. A third building, approximately 22,000-square-foot, situated in the middle of the property has not yet garnered a potential lessee. "My …

Hackensack University Medical Center physicians will serve as medical directors of CVS/pharmacy walk-in medical clinics.
In a partnership with CVS, Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) physicians will serve as medical directors for six CVS Minute Clinics. Minute Clinics offer patients walk-in services for common illnesses and wellness and prevention services, such as cholesterol, diabetes and blood pressure screening and monitoring. Under this agreement, HUMC physicians will also refer patients to one another when additional care is needed that the Minute Clinic cannot provide to the patient. In addition to this collaboration, the patient can give permission for the Minute Clinic to electronically share their medical history with HUMC locations in northeast New Jersey.
