Bergen Pups Teamed Up on the Field in Puppy Bowl IX

Brothers Eli and Tuck made a great team on the field.

Bergen-bred puppies Eli and Tuck made a great team in Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl IX on Super Bowl Sunday. Watch the attached YouTube video to see the brothers in action. Tuck and Eli teamed up to score a touchdown and were noted as top players on the team.  The puppies, who were taken in by the Bergen County Animal Shelter, were chosen to take part in Animal Planet's popular event along with their brothers Cruz and Prince who didn't make the starting line-up. The pups are growing up quick and just reunited last Friday when the animal shelter threw them a bit pep rally celebration to kick-off the Puppy Bowl.

Bergen Shelter Pups Head to "Puppy Bowl" Sunday

Animal Planet's "Puppy Bowl," the popular precursor to the Super Bowl, will feature four of Bergen's very own puppies.

Four Bergen County puppies are going to be big stars this weekend, taking to the field in the biggest game of the year - Animal Planet's "Puppy Bowl" this Sunday. Cruz, Prince, Tuck and Eli, all German Shepherd mixes, came from the Bergen County Animal Shelter based in Teterboro, the county reports. The four were part of a litter of six puppies who were left abandoned outside the shelter on a cold night in October. The shelter has since helped them all find homes but during their stay, these four were chosen to be featured in this popular event which helps raise awareness to local animal shelters. The Puppy Bowl mimics a football game with puppies in the role of the players and hedgehog cheerleaders. Eli will be in the starting line-up. …

I fostered Angel in my home, before and after she had her puppies, she is a wonderful, loving, loyal and 100% housebroken dog. She does however need to be the only pet in the home, she has been through alot, and has been at the shelter for 7 months now. She deserves to be adopted and settled into her forever home. Wonderful dogs that are very loving. You just need to have an owner that is responsible. I am not sure why you felt the need to post your opinion on a section where they are trying to adopt out this adorable animal. Whoever gets this dog would be very lucky. Also, below is the website that shows all of the photos of pits being nanny dogs. Very cute: http://www.ywgrossman.com/photoblog/?p=676   more ›
