The New Milford Volunteer Ambulance Corp, is comprised of 36 volunteers that reside in both New Milford and Oradell.More The combined Corp has served both municipalities since 1937.

NMVAC members are on site to answer questions at the Corp's station after 6pm. Corp members respond to medical emergencies and transport patients seeking additional care to the hospital. 

When Corp members are not on site, the Holy Name Hospital emergency medical services will respond to any emergency calls within the borough.

The River Edge Volunteer Ambulance Service (REVAS) was officially incorporated in 1949 and began responding to callsMore from the 9,000 residents in the borough on June 1. Since then, REVAS has expanded as a full squad with 42 members, 32 of which actively respond to calls for the now 11,000 residents in town.

For those interested in volunteering, REVAS offers free EMT and CPR training. The squad's building is located next to Veteran's Memorial Park and not far from the River Edge Library and Roosevelt School.

The River Edge Fire Department was formed in 1900 after the railroad station was destroyed. Two years later, theMore volunteer department acquired its' first hose pumper. Since then the department has expanded in membership, which is split between two firehouses and includes both auxiliary members and a cadet program. The main firehouse is located on Kinderkamack Road and houses an engine, ladder truck and special operations team.
