The Week Ahead in River Edge, Oradell

Oradell 5K and Fun Run, Library Programs, Mayor and Council meeting, Wellness Program on the calendar for this week.

The River Edge Mayor and Council will be having a regular meeting Monday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Borough Hall. The work session will take place at 7 p.m. On the agenda for the regular meeting is a resolution opposing the rate increase of United Water and a resolution restoring the full duty status of Police Chief Thomas Cariddi. The River Edge Zoning Board of Adjustment will be meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 9 in Borough Hall. 

The River Edge Beautification Committee will be meeting Thursday, Oct. 10 on the second floor of Borough Hall. 

The River Edge Public Library is hosting 10 Most Common Gardening Mistakes presented by Dail Reid  on Saturday, October 12 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Join Dail Reid, Horticultural Consultant for Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Bergen County, teacher and lecturer to garden groups and the Master Gardener Program (and weed-puller on the side), for a program on lawn care, vegetable and flower garden maintenance, soil information, pruning, fertilizing, and more. There will be an open question and answer period at the end of the presentation. Homeowners, landscapers and exterminators call or stop by her office at One Bergen County Plaza in Hackensack to inquire about soil testing, growing information or identification and control of insects and plant diseases both indoors and out. Sponsored by Friends of the River Edge Library.

Oradell

Story Time at the Oradell Library, The Girl Scouts, along with the younger girls, will select Fancy Nancy books by Jane O'Connor for a storytime, craft, and snack. For all girls ages 5-7 on Monday, October 7 from 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. Click here for more information.

The Oradell Public Library has begun its Fall storytime series for children of all ages. Click here for more information.
