The River Edge Mayor and Council will be holding their work session Monday at 7 p.m. followed by their regular meeting at 8 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Borough Hall.
The River Edge Public Library will be showing The Great Gatsby starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire on Wednesday at 12 noon. Rated PG-13, the movie is an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's Long Island-set novel, where Midwesterner Nick Carraway is lured into the lavish world of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby. Soon enough, however, Carraway will see through the cracks of Gatsby's nouveau riche existence, where obsession, madness, and tragedy await. Movie license is sponsored by Friends of the River Edge Library. Popcorn and beverage will be served or bring your own lunch. Seating is on a "first come" basis.
The River Edge Planning Board will be meeting at 8 p.m. Thursday in Borough Hall.
The River Edge Shade Tree Commission will be meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at 10 River Edge Road.

St. Joseph's School is hosting Back to School Night for the Lower School Parents on Monday at 7 p.m.
The Oradell Special Events Committee invites everyone to Oradell Family Day Sunday, Sept. 22, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Family Day is being held at Memorial Field located on Prospect Avenue. “Join the Fun” and to enjoy a great Family Day (rain date Sept. 29th). There will be local food vendors, rides and local organizations will have fundraising and fun-raising events planned.
