Letter to the Editor: Thanks to the Lions Club for Fundraiser

Dear Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to offer my sincerest thanks and gratitude to the River Edge Lions Club for hosting the Pasta Fundraising Dinner for me on November 8 at the Saint Peter the Apostle Church in River Edge.  It was such a wonderful feeling to know that the people from the town where I grew up and spent much of my life have been and continue to be even more helpful and supportive to me through my recent health scare than I could have ever dreamed.

I am beyond grateful to everyone who came out to the dinner to offer their assistance during this difficult time in my life.

I would also like to thank Mayor Sandy Moscaritolo for recommending me to the River Edge Lions Club, as well as all the River Edge Club members who donated their time and effort to work the fundraiser, and to the young performers from Mariann's School of Dance who did such an amazing great job.  In addition, I want to express my gratitude to the Neighbors-helping-Neighbors USA (www.nhnusa.org) board for establishing the P.O. Box 274, River Edge, NJ, for donations and letters, as well as helping to get the word out about the fundraiser.

The River Edge Lions Club is an amazing organization made up of truly wonderful, caring people, as many of the citizens of River Edge are, who make it their mission to help those in need.  The River Edge Lions Club meets at the River Edge Diner on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, from September to May.  They support many local organizations, as well as projects to aid the blind, and if you would like to donate your time to any of their causes, there is no group more committed to aiding others as the generous members of the River Edge Lions Club.  There is also a Leo Club that engages High School students to help and participate in their endeavors.  New members are welcome to join the Lions Club by calling 201-487-0764.
