Crusaders, Paladins Ranked #2 and #13 by MSG Varsity

In the 2012 Tri-State top 25 preseason poll, both parochial schools were listed in the rankings

MSG Varsity, Cablevision’s 24/7 HD network dedicated to everything high school, announced the Tri-State Top 25 football pre-season rankings this week. The lists were announced and discussed during the premiere of A Quick: 60, hosted by Mike Quick which helped kick off the senior year of MSG Varsity. 

Quick has been contributing his knowledge of all things high school sports for the past 20 years andA Quick: 60, a LIVE weekly call-in show, has become the place football fans turn to for the most comprehensive news and information. The show is designed to bring in top coaches, athletes and analysts to provide the audience the chance to interact and discuss their local teams.

“The beginning of the school year is always an exciting time and each school year we are tasked to rank the top teams,” said Mike Quick. “It’s a lot of fun but a lot of hard-work is put into narrowing down which teams get to touch the tri-state elite and have that moment in the spotlight.”

All the schools included on the lists were chosen by MSG Varsity football experts, analysts and writers. MSG Varsity is available exclusively to Cablevision’s iO TV subscribers on Channel 14 and on interactive channel 614. 

Don Bosco took the top spot followed by Bergen Catholic and St. Joseph Regional of Montvale. The Paladins came in at number 13, just ahead of Delbarton and Montclair. The Crusaders first season opponent, the St. Anthony Friars of Long Island came in at number five, edging St. Peter's Prep (six).

Neither River Dell nor Paramus were ranked in the pre-season rankings.

Bergen Catholic

  • Friday, Sept. 7, 7pm - Football @ St. Anthony's (LIVE for Friday Night Football)
  • Monday, Sept. 24, 7:30pm - Football @ St. Joseph (Montvale)
  • Thursday, Sept. 27, 7:30pm - Soccer @ Paramus

Paramus Catholic

  • Monday, Sept. 10, 10:30pm - Football vs. Delbarton
  • Tuesday, Oct. 2, 9pm - Football @ Ridgewood

Paramus High School

  • Monday, Sept. 10, 4pm - Football @De Paul
  • Wednesday, Sept. 12, 10pm - Girls Soccer @ Ramapo
  • Saturday, Sept. 27, 7:3pm - Boys Soccer vs. Bergen Catholic

River Dell

  • Friday, Sept. 7, 6pm - Football vs. West Essex
  • Monday, Sept. 10, 4:15pm - Volleyball vs. Mahwah
