VIDEO: River Dell Class Graduates High School with Largest Class in Past Few Years

In the 54th River Dell High School Commencement, 290 seniors received their diplomas

In 54 years of graduation ceremonies at River Dell Regional High School, the Class of 2012 not only boasts their prowess across athletics, academics and the arts but also the largest senior class over the past few years. The 290 seniors braved the triple-digit heat record in caps and gowns to receive their diplomas.

"They arrived here as seventh graders in the fall of 2006 and I arrived as superintendent two months earlier," Superintendent Patrick Fletcher said. "However I had the pleasure of meeting many of the young men and women earlier in their lifes and one I've quite literally known since birth. I've watched them grow and mature and now I proudly watch them go out and change the world. They challenged us, questioned why things are the way they were and sometimes to my great frustration did not understand the word no. They wowed me with great feats of artistic, athletic and academic triumph while some times making me wonder if aliens had invaded their bodies. They made me laugh, they made me cry, but mostly they challenged me to be a better person and I am enriched by the time spent together."

Many will , others will serve their country in the and some are headed to the work force. But most of all they will each be able to call River Dell their home.
