Lady Hawks Stun Wayne Valley

Field hockey comes out on top, 1-0

In a stunning match of athleticism, the River Dell Lady Hawks (4-5-1) upset the Wayne Valley Indians (3-7), 1-0 on Tuesday night in Oradell. Chloe Sneyer set the ball up to Catherine Antonelli for the goal. Erin Smith made two saves on goal while Indians' Kelsey Jubinsky made three.

The Indians had a shot in the first half to get on the board with a corner, but the River Dell defense swatted the ball out of the zone. 

River Dell faces the Comets from Hackensack (3-7) on Thursday, 4:15pm in Oradell and then begins to prepare for the Bergen County Tournament. Opening round is Sunday, Oct. 9

The Indians were ousted from the Passaic County tournament by neighboring rival Wayne Hills in the first round. Wayne Valley is home on Thursday against the Demarest Norsewoman (2-9).
