With a week away until the deadline for the next round of Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), River Edge finalized their three choices for potential funding: senior activities, the senior bus driver and senior bus dispatcher.
has gone to the bus driver and dispatcher's salary and wages. River Edge has been awarded $14,500 for the bus driver's salary and $4,300 for the dispatcher's. The overall driver's salary is $30,000 and the dispatcher receives $10,000 annually.
This is the first year in quite some time that the third option for CDBG funding will go toward covering SCORE's activities. This past year the borough received money for ADA compliant doors to the police station and before that a new circulation desk at the library.
The of senior citizens meets on Monday and Tuesdays at for a variety of activities including ballroom and line dancing and glee club with tables set up for playing cards or other games.
