Oradell Council Chooses Michael Staff to Fill Vacant Seat

Staff will fill a one-year uexpired term as a replacement for Antonio B. Meo, who recently resigned due to a family move.

Oradell is going to have a new councilman.

Michael Staff has been chosen by the governing body to serve a one-year unexpired term, filling out the term of Councilman Antonio B. Meo, who recently resigned after serving two years of his three-year term.

Meo, who was elected in 2011 and has recently married, left his council seat because of his wife's career necessitated that the family move, said Melinda Rabbia, Oradell Republican Municipal chairwoman.

"We are sorry to see him go. Tony was a good councilman and is a good, big-hearted person.  I am proud to call him friend," Rabbia said. "His enthusiasm, work ethic, and positive attitude will be sorely missed."

Staff was chosen from three prospective candidates put before the governing body.

"He’s terrific, and we’re fortunate he agreed to fill the void," Rabbia said.

A resident of Oradell for 17 years, Staff has served on the Board of
Health, in various capacities in the Oradell Republican Organization, and in
numerous roles serving academic and charitable organizations.

As a business executive, Staff brings "a wealth of experience that will
prove invaluable to the Council," Rabbia said.

Staff is married and has four children. His wife, Colleen, Rabbia noted, is a lifelong resident of Oradell.

"The family has deep roots in the community," she said.
