Video: Trade Center Beam Arrives in River Edge

Future memorial will be planned to continue honoring those lost

Wednesday's pouring rain did not damper the spirits of the River Edge , and members who returned from JFK Airport with a steel I-beam from the World Trade Center.

The beam, which will become part of a future memorial in the borough for all first responders and civilians whose lives were lost on 9/11. It was donated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The beam will be housed behind the police station for the winter and a full unveiling to the public is scheduled for Memorial Day.

Local PBA 201 which includes the River Edge Police Department will create a Trust Fund for future donations to be used for the creation and maintenance of the memorial.
