During this week's River Edge Mayor and Council meeting, the sense of pride stemming from members of the River Edge Police Department filled council chambers in borough hall. 

The officers in the department joined residents to see Officer Christopher Cheevers receive his shield as he was promoted to the rank of sergeant. And hear the commendations earned by patrol officers Dennis Griffith, Daniel Lee and Craig Casey.
