For 113 years, the has been serving the community from the days of horse drawn water cart to the current engine and ladder trucks. And for half of the departments history, firefighter and Ex-Chief Charles May has been a staple among the ranks. May had dedicated the past 50 years to the department.
"It's not often the Mayor and Council get to do things like this," May said. "I hope to be back here in 25 years. It's been a long road but I've enjoyed every minute of it."
May also previously served on the Council and will again be honored as the Co-Grand Marshall of the Oradell July 4 parade along with the borough's Girl Scouts.
