River Edge Fire Department Awarded Five Trophies at NY/NJ Fireman's Parade

REFD takes 1st place for its aerial truck and for marching.

The New York and New Jersey Volunteer Firemen's Association celebrated its 100th anniversary Saturday with a parade from Central Ave. in Pearl River, NY to the Montvale, NJ Firehouse. The River Edge Fire Department took home five trophies.

The department took 1st place Aerial in its age class, 2nd place Retired Antique, 2nd place Engine in its age class, 2nd place Rescue in its age class, and 1st place Marching of over 21 members. 

The New York and New Jersey Volunteer Firemen's Association was established a century ago in the Park Ridge Firehouse and included volunteer fire departments along the New Jersey and New York Railroad line. The Association grew to include all of the volunteer fire departments in Bergen and Rockland Counties.
