Resident Avoids Major Injuries Following Glenside Court Accident

An 86-year Oradell resident backed his vehicle into the creek that splits Glenside Court near the Regional High School

An 86-year-old Glenside Court West resident in Oradell was not seriously harmed after backing his vehicle into the creek near his home. Firefighters from River Edge and Oradell were both on hand to stabilize and assist on towing the car out of the creek.

"The resident was backing out of his driveway when he clipped his garage," Oradell Police Officer Richard Ligouri said. "He then accidentally hit the gas and backed into the creek."

The driver was transported to Holy Name Medical Center as a precaution although Ligouri stated that he avoided any major injuries during the accident.

Emergency services were on scene for approximately one hour to stabilize the vehicle and remove it from the creek.
