The Ramsey Police Department and Bergen County Sheriff’s Office are looking for two men who they say entered a borough jewelry store Monday morning posing as FBI agents, tied up employees, and made off with an unknown amount of jewelry, Ramsey Police Chief Bryan Gurney said Monday afternoon.
At about 11:20 a.m. Monday, two people entered Aydin Jewelers on Route 17 South and identified themselves as “FBI Agents investigating a possible meth lab,” Gurney said.
One man then “brandished a handgun and zip tied three employees,” he said.
While the employees were tied up, the duo went into the store’s safe and display cases and stole an unknown amount of jewelry, Gurney said.
Members of the Bergen County Sherriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigations and the RPD are on the scene.
Anyone that has information regarding this crime is asked to call the Ramsey Police Department at 201-327-2400.
