Oradell, New Milford Fire Departments Recipients of Flood Water Dry Rescue Suits from County

A $40,000 grant from Homeland Security has enabled the Bergen County Office of Emergency Management to purchase 25 complete sets of Swift Water/Flood Water Dry Rescue suits and associated equipment that they will be distributing to 11 towns, including Oradell and New Milford.  

According to County officials, this equipment will improve the abilities to deploy more trained first responders to assist in Swift Water/ Flood Water situations throughout Bergen County. 

Both the Oradell and New Milford Fire Departments are trained to respond to flood emergencies and have often put these skills to use--especially during Hurricane Irene when they traveled in boats to evacuate people from their homes.
