Former River Edge Borough Attorney Dies

William "Bill" Lindsley passed away over the weekend

William R. Lindsley, Esq., 59 of River Edge died over the weekend on June 24.

Lindsley was the former borough attorney for the past decade and had served as the Planning Board attorney and as a trustee with the River Edge Swim Club. With a private practice in Hackensack, he was also the East Newark Planning Board Attorney.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, River Edge and the New Jersey Bar Association and an avid Red Sox fan.

According to River Edge Mayor Margaret Watkins, he was in Pittsburgh to see his beloved Sox take out the Pirates this past weekend.

He is survived by wife Irene (nee Reinece), daughters Catherine and Diane Lindsley, siblings Raymond Lindsley and Joan Lucid and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Bill will be held  at  on Thursday from 2 to 4pm and again from 7 to 9pm. An 11am memorial service is scheduled for Friday at the Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to either Lily’s Pantry or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
