Lady Hawks Fly Ahead

Lady Hawks Basketball improve their season to 17-3.

The River Dell Lady Hawks Basketball team kept their positive record going after defeating Fort Lee, 45-18 on Tuesday evening.

Fort Lee's Caitlin McKenna may have provided the Lady Bridgemen with an early lead, but the Lady Hawks offense took over from there as Christine Woods, Kayla McGovern, and Emma O’Connor spurred a 15-6 lead after one period. McGovern netted a game high 11 points.

Kayleen Melvin and Emily McGovern kept the momentum going providing a 27-8 lead heading into halftime.

Jeana Capolla netted the first trey of the evening to start off the third period and was shortly followed by Kayla McGovern and Emma O'Connor hitting from behind the arc as well.

The Lady Hawks topped of the evening with an extra field goal in the final minute to complete the victory 45-18.
