Lions Club Holds Dinner to Benefit Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors Founder

Lions help NhN founder, John Fugazzie, raise funds to pay medical expenses associated with his heart attack.

The River Edge Lions Cub is hosting a Pasta Fundraising Dinner on Nov. 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to help Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors (NhN) founder, John Fugazzie, pay for the medical costs associated with a heart attack he suffered in July. The dinner will be held at Saint Peter' the Apostle Church in River Edge.

Fugazzie's hospital bill alone was $171,569.44. This amount represents six days in the hospital and two stents in his heart. He lost his job, his home and, like so many people today, he has returned to live in the house where he was raised--in River Edge. He, along with thousands of others, is desperately seeking employment, but cannot get a bite or a break.

Through his NhN support group, John has founded over 350 jobs for others. He lost his A&P job last October and then suffered a heart attack this July. His wife is on disability and his unemployment insurance will end this October.

Donations to the Lions are $10/person and may be mailed to River Edge Lions Club, PO Box 33, River Edge, NJ 07661. To receive a ticket to the Lions Pasta Dinner by mail the donation should be received before October 31. Tickets may be purchased from any Lion, at River Edge Day Lions table or at the Pasta Dinner at the door.
