THERE WAS FORT LEE … BIRTHPLACE OF THE MOTION PICTURE INDUSTRY     This program centers on the life and times of the first woman director in cinema history, Alice Guy Blaché.  Madame Blaché started her film career in the 1890's in her native France.  By 1902 she was directing and making color and synchronized sound films.  In 1910 she came to America and in 1912 she built her $100,000 studio, Solax, in Fort Lee, NJ, then the center of film production in the United States
