REPD Await Medical Examiner's Report for Swim Club Victim

Chief Cariddi states report could take a month to recieve

Late , Boris Katsnelson, 90, of River Edge was transported to where he was pronounced dead on arrival after being pulled from the pool.

According to REPD Chief Thomas Cariddi, the department is waiting on a medical examiner's report to determine cause of death, but that the report may not be received until later this month.

"It's not certain that the cause of death was drowning," Cariddi said. "He may have had a condition that caused it, but it takes a month before the report is finalized."

On July 5 at 7:20pm, River Edge police, the River Edge Volunteer Ambulance Service and ad Advanced Life Support ambulance responded to the swim club on a report of an unconscious party in the pool that may have been a possible victim of drowning. CPR was applied and Katsnelson was transported to HUMC with medics on board but was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Services for Katsnelson were held last Friday.
