OFD Offers Tickets to Bo' Sox, Blue Jays Game

Tickets to the MLB game at Fenway Park should be purchased early

Any time two baseball teams in the American League East Division clash on the diamond, fans are always gripping their seats to the final inning. On June 27, the is hosting a trip to Fenway Park for the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays 1:35pm match-up.

The trip, organized by the Oradell Firefighters Exempt's Association, will begin with a continental breakfast from 6 to 7am at the fire house followed by the four-hour bus drive to Fenway. Lunch and refreshments will be served during the trip. TThe cost for the trip is $150 and anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent.

"The Exempts' Association" are the members whom have performed seven years of 60 percent of emergency calls, and are State of New Jersey "Exempt"," Ex-Fire Chief Stan Kufel said. "We try to perform duties of remembrance of former members, memorial services, new memorial construction project and other related activities."

When the two teams met in early June, the Bo'Sox won the series 2-1 although this game's possible southpaw pitching duel could feature Bo'Sox Jon Lester against Blue Jays' Brett Cecil. Neither ace competed during the early June series. The official line-up won't be finalized until the day of the game.

Currently Cecil has a 3.60 ERA, having won one game in his only start after starting the season with the minors. The left-handed ace is averaging .250 at the plate. Fellow southpaw Lester has four wins to his name with a 4.53 ERA and .272 batting average.

Neither team is sitting high in the rankings as of this weekend with Toronto sporting a 35-34 record followed by Boston's 36-33.
