 announced this week the addition of two new teams to its Athletics Program, as the Crusader Ski and Crew teams will debut this coming school year on the varsity level. The Ski team will compete in the 2012-2013 winter season, while the Crew team will compete in the spring of 2013.

United Water hosted their second annual "Run the Reservoir " Half Marathon this weekend and effectively shutting down parts of Kinderkamack and Oradell Roads for a few hours. The half-marathon offeried runners the opportunity to tackle a 13.1 mile race that took them from the United Water Reservoir in Westwood thru the streets of Oradell and back again.

Oradell approves $2.1 million lease for cell tower site

The Oradell Borough Council approved a resolution last week to award the sale of a perpetual lease for the cell tower located at the Department of Public Works site near the Hackensack River. The purchase of the cellular communications ground lease was awarded to the highest bidder, Crown Castle Towers 09, LLC, for $2.1 million.

Oradell crossing guard posts to remain for school year

In anticipation of the start of the school year this week, Oradell's public safety committee recommended retaining the 12 existing crossing guard posts. Last year at this time, the borough eliminated four posts from the existing 16 before the start of the 2011/12 school year.

Minivan drives into store window in River Edge

A minivan drove into the window of a store in a Kinderkamack Road strip mall Thursday morning, police said. The crash occurred about 11 a.m. at Fine Cards and Gifts, at 651 Kinderkamack Road.
