River Dell's First Jr. Police Academy Holds Special Graduation

After a week of special events featuring law enforcement specialists from the federal, state and local levels, the River Dell Jr. Police Academy held the graduation of their first class of recruits Friday.

Oradell DPW Yard Closed for Dumping Materials

The Borough of Oradell's DPW yard will be closed for dumping materials. In order to gain access to dump materials, you must have a valid photo ID and proof of residency.

Oradell Mayor and Council Curb Bulk Refuse Collection in DPW Yard

Borough may realize significant cost savings by putting in some controls on the amount of bulk refuse being dumped in the DPW yard. The cost of hauling this debris away is rising. As of the end of May, the Borough has paid $7700 to have this type of material removed. In 2012 the total cost was approximately $15,000 and in 2011, approximately $12,000. 

Prosecutor's Office, River Edge Mayor Visit Jr. Police Academy

The recruits had visits from the Bergen County Bomb Squad, the K9 Unit, the Bergen County Sheriff's BCI Unit and a Secret Service agent who graduated from River Dell High School. On Thursday, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Computer Crimes Unit came to talk to both the recruits and their parents about using social media responsibly. 

Local Church to Celebrate Christmas in July

The First Congregational Church in River Edge, a congregation of the United Church of Christ, will hold a "Christmas-in-July" celebration during the 10 a.m. service of worship on Sunday, July 21.
