Don't Rain on Our (Independence Day) Parade, But if it Does...

River Edge Mayor and Council prepared to reschedule and/or postpone events in the event of rain.

Given the uncertain forecast for the week ahead, and Monday's flash floods, the River Edge Mayor and Council discussed back-up plans should the rain prevent any of the scheduled Independence Day events.

The council will decide by noon Wednesday if the evening's Music Under the Stars will be cancelled and rescheduled. If rain does force this decision, the council anticipates rescheduling it to September, as was done during a previous year.

If the Independence Day Parade and Family Fun gathering in the park is rained out on Thursday, the Council tentatively said they will reschedule it for Saturday, July 6. Rescheduling to Saturday is contingent on whether the amusement ride vendor is available Saturday.

The forecast is showing Friday, July 5 as partly sunny--the Oradell fireworks will take place unless there is a change in the forecast.
