The first ever Bergen County Fair, which will be held this weekend, will include the long awaited rivalry match between powerhouses Bergen Catholic and Don Bosco

Over four days, Bergen County will host its first ever County Fair and Fall Harvest Festival at Overpeck Park from Thursday through Sunday in Ridgefield Park. Along with carnival rides, games and live music, the event will also feature archrivals Don Bosco Prep and Bergen Catholic in their first game of the season on Saturday, 1pm.

The football game will actually be played out at Palisades Park Regional Sportsplex, Roosevelt and Grand Avenue in Palisades Park, while the main fair takes place 199 Challenger Road, Ridgefield Park. It will also be broadcast live on MSG Varsity Optimum TV, Channel 14 and online at msgvarsity.com/livecast

“MSG Varsity is fortunate to have two of the nation’s premier high school football programs in its backyard, and we’re always thrilled to share the action behind this heated rivalry with fans from across the tri-state,” said Michael Lardner, Senior Vice President & Executive Producer, MSG Varsity in a press relese. “By incorporating the game into this year’s fair festivities, Bergen County is truly building community around football and we are excited to be a part of it.

The Crusaders are currently 4-2 for the season while the Ironmen sport a 5-1 record. Both teams enter Saturday's match after a bye week which followed Bergen's  24-14 loss to Cocoa (Fla.) and Bosco's 31-8 trouncing of Paramus Catholic.

The family-friendly event will feature carnival rides, games, live music, a “harvest festival” featuring local agricultural displays and exhibits, and a haunted hayride.
