Council Gets Update on Transit Village Project

Here's a sneak peek of what's coming up in River Dell this week

MONDAY: The River Edge Mayor and Council has its final work session and regular meeting of the year beginning at 7pm in Council Chambers. During the work session, redevelopment attorney's Sheldon Cohen and Francis Regan along with planner Paul Phillips will provide an update on the NJ Transit property. During the 8pm regular meeting, the council will vote on a proposed zoning ordinance change to allow duplexes on Park Avenue.

TUESDAY: The Oradell Library will read "Drowning Ruth" by Christina Scwarz at 11am. Chosen as a selection for Oprah's Book Club in September 2000, this psychological thriller follows sisters Amanda and Mathilda in rural Wisconsin during the early 1900s, post World War I.

WEDNESDAY: The River Edge Board of Ed is scheduled to meet at 7:30pm at Cherry Hill. The Oradell BOE will meet at 7:30pm in the OPS library/media center.

THURSDAY: The River Edge Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 8pm.

THE WEEKEND: Led by Magician Steve Woyce, this exciting Winter Themed Magic Show at the Oradell Library on Saturday 2pm, combines colorful comedy magic and tons of audience participation. Audience volunteers will help make snowmen and candy canes appear and disappear, play a magical game of hide & seek, and even be treated to a special visit by Henry the Magic Rabbit.

The Bergen County Historical Society celebrates its 29th Colonial Christmas Concerts, featuring Linda Russell & Companie, in the Steuben House, by reservation only. Tickets are still available for the Saturday 8:30pm and Sunday 7:30pm concerts in the Steuben House. The Black Horse Tavern in the Campbell-Christie House will be open for light tavern fare. Choose from soup & herb biscuit from the Rolling Pin Cafe in Westwood, poughman plate, bread pudding, hot mulled cider and more. Additional cost.
