During the 8pm regular meeting, the council will vote on a proposed zoning ordinance change to allow duplexes on Park Avenue.

TUESDAY: The Oradell Library will read "Drowning Ruth" by Christina Scwarz at 11am. Chosen as a selection for Oprah's Book Club in September 2000, this psychological thriller follows sisters Amanda and Mathilda in rural Wisconsin during the early 1900s, post World War I.

THE WEEKEND: Led by Magician Steve Woyce, this exciting Winter Themed Magic Show at the Oradell Library on Saturday 2pm, combines colorful comedy magic and tons of audience participation. The Bergen County Historical Society celebrates its 29th Colonial Christmas Concerts, featuring Linda Russell & Companie, in the Steuben House, by reservation only. Tickets are still available for the Saturday 8:30pm and Sunday 7:30pm concerts in the Steuben House. The Black Horse Tavern in the Campbell-Christie House will be open for light tavern fare. Now is the time to consider flooding in the area. We need to be smarter than New Milford in what we allow. How about 3 stories. 1st level parking 2nd level office retail, 3rd level residential. Taller buildings may require new firefighting equiptment. More residential will have school impact. How many stores do we need on Kinderkamack Rd and the surrounding area?

It does not matter, because at the end of the day, the only definite thing that we will end up with is more housing, which will of course impact the schools, and of course property taxes. The major commercial/retail component dreamed about these last 10+ years, and touted as justification for all the out of control spedning, is and was a pipe dream.
