BC Players Head to River City and a New School Year Begins This Week

The River Edge Council meets on Tuesday while Oradell Board of Ed convenes Wednesday

River City, Iowa residents will have trouble beginning Saturday night as conman Harold Hill sweeps into town as the Bergen County Players present "The Music Man" opening at 8pm. Meredith Willson’s musical comedy, which will run through Oct. 6, is one of the most beloved shows in American theater. Its story of how love changes the lives of a fast-talking salesman, a small town librarian, and the good folks of River City, Iowa, is a comedy that has entertained audiences since 1957.

River Edge, St. Peter's Academy and River Dell students retun to the classroom on Wednesday, with Oradell Public and St. Joseph beginning their school year Thursday. Bergen Catholic will have its first full day of classes on Friday.

River Edge Mayor and Council meets Tuesday, 7pm for a work session to continue discussing the 2012 CDBG applications and at 8pm to swear  in new committee members Joan Kristan (Historic Commission), Beatrice Scifo (Beautification) and Maxine Rumsby (Special Events).
