Help A Good Cause and Brake For This JDRF Garage Sale

Kim Wapelhorst of Oradell and her team of volunteers hope bargain hunters will brake for the community garage sale she is hosting on September 26-28 to support the upcoming annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk-A-Thon. Back again for a second year, the garage sale will not only offer a lot of fun for treasure seekers, it will bring together a community to lend a hand, share a story and support a good cause.

Wapelhorst, whose 18 year old son was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes several years ago, got the idea to host a garage sale last year to support JDRF instead of soliciting donations for the walk-a-thon.“Fall is a great time of year for people to clean out their basements and attics,” she says.  “Last year, our garage sale raised more money than seeking monetary donations."

With only a few weeks away, Wapelhorst continues to seek new or gently used merchandise for the sale – especially clothing. She is also looking for workers to help behind the scenes before and after the event.

If you would like to donate new or gently used merchandise, please contact Wapelhorst at 201-759-5706. "With everyone's help, we should be able to surpass the $5,000 we made at last year's sale, says Wapelhorst."Come out and help us achieve our goal."

The sale will be held on September 26-28, at 360 Grant Avenue, Oradell, from 9-5 PM.
