Twenty-six year entrepreneur Mark Van Buren is just one of the newest business owners in River Edge, having just opened Live Free Yoga at 888 Kinderkamack Road with a grand opening to come on April 28.
Coming from a health and wellness background as a personal trainer and massage therapist, Van Buren received a bachelor's degree in religious studies and was set to become an interfaith minister before he began to feel a different calling.
"It was a long journey but each step I took seemed to bring me closer to this," Van Buren said. "Things have just been unfolding and I'm learning about running a business as I go. As everything happens, I'm meeting the right people."
The 600-square foot studio on the corner of Kinderkamack Road and Christie Avenue will cater to yoga students of all ages and levels from kid's to teenagers, families and senior citizens. The daily schedule offers a mix of Vinyasa (faster pace) and Hatha (slower pace) yoga routines.
The smaller studio space allows for Van Buren and the rest of the instructors to focus on personalized attention to clients while ensuring maximum safety and benefits.
"I like that River Edge has a a real sense of community," Van Buren said after also looking at space in Oradell and Northvale. "I want this to be a space for community members, moms or athletes to come together. I hope to have a board with photos of all the members in the studio and look forward to really meeting all the people in the area. I hope myself and the instructors can offer something really special to the people."
Live Free Yoga is open Monday through Sunday starting at 6am and closing around 9pm. The studio will close at 8pm on the weekends. To contact Van Buren about exact hours for classes or prices call 201-638-1740 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
