Johnny Manganiotis of may have been the first Oradell baker to compete on Food Network's Cupcake Wars but he won't be the last: The 's Tammy Dunwoody will step into battle on July 15. And to celebrate her appearance on the show, she will be hosting a 1,000 cupcake giveaway for three days from July 13 to 15.
"I am planning on a 1,000 cupcake give away at The Art of Cake the weekend that it airs and am looking for 250 judges to try our cupcakes (each will receive four free cupcakes to taste and judge)," Dunwoody said. "I think this will be fun and something people would love to participate in. It was a great adventure and an awesome experience."
The bakery is seeking 250 people to taste four of their cupcakes and let Dunwoody and staff know what you think from July 13 to 15, 9am to 5pm. Anyone interested should email Dunwoody at email@example.com with your name and address to register. You must be over 18 and have a valid drivers license. One judge per household please. The first 250 people will be chosen as judges.
"I'm trying to schedule it so that I don't have 250 people in the store at the same time," Dunwoody said. "Once I receive an email, they will receive a return email with the time they can come in and pick them up."
Dunwoody will face three other top cupcake bakers in three elimination challenges until only one remains. The first round focuses primarily on taste; the second on decoration; and the third is a 1,000 cupcake bake-off for $10,000 and the opportunity to showcase the cupcakes and display at the winning gig.
According to Food Network's website for Cupcake Wars, the July 15 episode revolves around the four chosen bakers competing for the opportunity to serve their cupcakes at a VIP party celebrating the release of "Private Practice" and former "Grey's Anatomy" star Kate Walsh's fragrance, Billionaire Boyfriend.
Along with standing judges Candace Nelson (owner of Sprinkles Cupcakes) and Florian Bellanger (chef and co-owner of online macaroon company MadMac), Dunwoody, who has already mingled with celebrities such as , the and Bob Hope's family, was judged by Walsh.
Dunwoody's episode was filmed a few months ago in Los Angeles and will air on Sunday, July 15, at 8pm. It will re-air July 17, at 8pm.
