Oradell Actor Stars in Bergen County Players' 'Speed-the-Plow'

Michael Scelzo stars as Hollywood agent with moral dilemma in the Oradell production of the David Mamet classic.

The Bergen County Players continues its run of "Speed -the-Plow," the fast-talking David Mamet classic that shines a harsh light on the dog-eat-dog world of the Hollywood movie business, Leading the cast is Oradell's own Michael Scelzo, Town News reported.

The play, which first debuted on Broadway with stars Joe Mantegna, Ron Silver and Madonna in 1988, is directed for the Bergen County Players by Peter Colletto. Audiences are cautioned that the performance includes mature language and themes.

Tickets are $20 for all evening performances and $16 for Sunday matinees; they can be purchased online at bcplayers.org, by calling 201-261-4200 or by visiting the box office during regular box office hours.  Discount tickets for students age 25 and under with proper ID are available for $14 by phone or walk-up only.  Friday's performance is followed by a "Questions & Artists" discussion following select performances.

The production runs weekends through Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell. Performances are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.
