River Edge PBA Comes to Retired Officer's Aid

Former Teaneck Police Sgt. Robert Talbot and family now have new smoke detectors in their home

Over the weekend, members of the River Edge PBA Local 201 assisted a fellow brother in need as they installed smoke detectors into Robert and Joann Talbot's Bogert Road home.

The former US Marine Corps gunnery sergeant, Talbot spent several years with the Teaneck Police, eventually retiring in 1988 as a sergeant.

Teaneck Detective Sgt. Andy Hays, who worked alongside Talbot for 20 years, described his fellow brother in blue as meticulous.

"He would bust your chops if your uniform was out of order," Hays said. "He was a good guy to work with."
