Paint the Mall Red Saturday at Shops at Riverside

Head to the Hackensack-River Edge border mall this weekend and meet NY Giants Stephen Baker and Jeff Feagles

In support of American Heart Month, the Shops at Riverside will be celebrating on Saturday by "Painting the Mall Red" in conjuction with Hackensack University Medical Center for the annual Heart Health Event. 

The event, which will take place form 10am to 4pm outside of Barnes  Noble will provide participants valuable information about maintaining good heart health, speak with world-class cardiologists, visit several interactive exhibit booths, enjoy fitness and nutrition demonstrations and have their blood pressure and BMI measurements taken as part of free health screenings. 

“We’re thrilled to be able to participate in the Simon Paint the Mall Red celebration,” said Lisa Polino, director of marketing and business development for The Shops at Riverside. “We encourage local shoppers to purchase a From the Heart Giftcard during February and to come to the mall for our Heart Health Event.”

Participants also will have a chance to meet Laura Smith, host of WABC Radio’s Living Better on the Go with Laura Smith, who will be taping segments during the event to air during a future broadcast. And from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., New York Giants great and Super Bowl champion Jeff Feagles will be on hand to meet and greet fans and sign autographs.

Other activities will include exciting raffles offering chances to win New York Giants merchandise and a fashion showcase at 3 p.m., featuring the latest looks from Bloomingdale’s, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers Women, kate spade new york, Brooks Brothers, L.K. Bennett and Style, with hair by Salon Rocks, Red looks styled by Christina Styles and a special guest appearance by former New York Giants wide receiver and Super Bowl champ Stephen Baker a.k.a. “The Touchdown Maker. Female guests are invited to a red lip application at the Red Lip Bar, presented by Bobbi Brown Cosmetics from Saks Fifth Avenue.

To support the fight against heart disease, shoppers again will be able to purchase the Simon From the Heart Giftcard at the Guest Services counter at The Shops at Riverside. For every Simon From the Heart Giftcard sold, Simon will pay $1 to the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) in support of The Heart Truth® Campaign, a national campaign for women about heart disease, which is sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.

The Simon From the Heart Giftcard is available in denominations ranging from $20 to $500, with an upfront purchase price of $3.95 per card, and is replaceable for free if lost or stolen.

Paint the Mall Red gives our properties the opportunity to promote healthy living and heart disease prevention among women, all in an environment they know and love – their local Simon mall,” said Lisa Bennett, assistant vice president at Simon Property Group. 

In addition, one lucky shopper from amongst all entrants nationally will win a unique prize package through Simon’s “What’s Not to Love?” sweepstakes, which runs during the month of February.  This enter-to-win prize package includes the choice of a designer dress worn in The Heart Truth Red Dress Collection Fashion Show in New York City during Fashion Week. The winner will select from a Badgley Mischka dress (size 4) worn by Jennie Garth in the 2009 Red Dress Collection or a Tadashi Shoji dress (size 12) worn by Raven Symone in the 2010 Red Dress Collection.

The winner will also receive a three-day, two-night trip to Los Angeles to see Andrea Bocelli perform songs from his 1/29/13 release “Passione” at the Hollywood Bowl on June 8, 2013, along with a collection of 10 previously released Andrea Bocelli CDs and a $250 Simon From the Heart Giftcard. Air transportation, hotel and car service to the concert are included.
