Early Spring Prediction Causes Celebration at Oradell Library

In honor of Groundhog Day, the Oradell Public Library Teen Advisory Board hosted a celebration of all things Groundhog.

Pennsylvania's Punxsutawney Phil, a weather prognosticating groundhog called for an early spring on Saturday for Groundhog Day. And in honor of Phil and his fellow groundhog cousins such as Staten Island Chuck and Essex County Ed, the Oradell Library held a celebration of everthing Groundhog for young children.

According to the myth, if a groundhog sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter; if he does not, spring is right around the corner. Last year, Phil predicted six more weeks of winter while Staten Island Chuck called for an early spring.
