Friday in River Edge, Oradell: A Day At the Zoo, a Trip to the Park, Softball Playoffs

Right in your own back yard is Van Saun Park, arguably the Central Park of South Bergen County. Acres of open space, a zoo, a train ride, a carousel, pony rides and a park specially designed for children with special needs. 

But when was the last time you really spent a day exploring the park? Have the kids ever had a chance to ride the ponies? The carousel? How about a picnic in the park? Or bring the bikes and ride the trails. 

There is so much the park has to offer for practically no money. So why not stay close to home and take the family to the park today? So close to home, but it will make you feel like you're miles away.

Watch the River Edge Red Hawks square off against the Edge at 6:30 p.m. followed by a showdown between the Black Widows and the Panthers at 8 p.m. as the River Edge Women's Softball League kickoff their playoff games. 

The winners of these games will play each other for the championship title next Friday.
