Following the most recent news that the school district will have to face cutting two teachers for a balanced budget, the River Edge Board of Education voted 5-2 to move the school elections to November on Wednesday night.

The Department of Education released the results of the 2011 state-wide testing assessments this week where students on the elementary level were increased scoring was found for advanced proficiency. But students at the Regional schools were struggling to exceed the state averages.

15 student-athletes from Bergen Catholic High School finalized their collegiate decision during National Signing Day on Wednesday. Athletes ranged from the football, soccer, lacrosse and golf teams.

On Thursday, students at Oradell Public School shone under the big top with members from the National Circus Project teaching them how to juggle and complete various circus skills.

The funding is not lost yet. Every Bergen County citizen should send a letter protesting this reallocation of vitally needed stabilization funding and insist that the County hold up its promise to stabilize and restore the historic Hackensack Water Works. Send Letters to: Bergne County Executive Kathleen Donovan and the Board of Chosen Freeholders, One Bergen County Plaza, Fifth Floor, Room 580, Hackensack , NJ 07601-7000 : OR E-mail with a note addressed to the County Executive and the Board of Chosen Freeholders (so they will all get your message): CountyExecutive@co.bergen.nj.us
Reallocating these $500,000 actually jeopardizes nearly $3 million in stabilization funding. Let the County know how you feel about their "demolition by neglect" of Oradell's National Historic Landmark eligible site!!
